Summer 2008, Vienna: Irene Andessner presents posters of staged portrait photographs in 400 »City Light« display cases around the city. As a motif for the eleven-part series of photographs she has selected noteworthy, legendary or almost forgotten Viennese women of the 19th and 20th centuries from the fields of science, art, politics, business and society, sympathetically interpreting and presenting them in pictorial form in order to re-publish them in her own way:
Marianne Hainisch, Bertha von Suttner, Katharina Schratt, Bertha
Pappenheim, Alice Schalek, Emilie Flöge, Lise Meitner, Gina Kaus, Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky, Irene Harand, Hedy Lamarr.
