Barbara Blomberg (1527\x961597), daughter of a Regensburg burgher, lover of Emperor Charles V. From 1551 the mother of Don Juan de Austria lived in Brussels, in whose Museum der Schönen Künste hangs the \x93Frauenporträt mit Blumenstrauss\x94 [portrait of a woman with bunch of flowers] (dated 1564, attributed to Adriaen Thomasz Key). This picture of an elegant patrician provides Irene Andessner with the model for the fictional portrait of the commander\x92s mother, no picture of whom has been handed down. A work specific to this place on the occasion of an exhibition in Regensburg.
